Rivers: COVID-19 sabotage

C.A-G.I. calls for police reaction

Following the allegations of the executive Governor of Rivers state, that the DC issued unauthorized permits to oil company workers in exchange for money.

The community AntiGraft Initiative ( C.A-G.I ) has said it was wrong for the deputy commissioner of police in Rivers state, to be mentioned as a sabotage to Rivers government efforts on COVID-19 pandemic.

And, looking at the facts of it, such statement forms the grounds for a Case of bribery and corruption, which requires thorough investigation.

sabotage is an act of corrupt practice, if established. It’s important to know that, the only thing that can erode the process of fighting COVID-19 in any state is corruption. So, no suspicion or allegations of corrupt practices during COVID-19 pandemic should be left unabated.

We call on the police to always apply high-level of professionalism in dealing with the state, on enforcement of COVID-19 executive orders, so that, the image of the police will not be bastardized.

The president of the NGO, comrade Uche Odungweru commended the efforts of traditional rulers and community leaders in enforcing the lockdown of ObioAkpor and port Harcourt city. And hailed the residents for complying to government directives.
