One good way of reducing the spread of corona virus, Covid-19 is to enlighten the people and allow them act accordingly.
And the better way to handle this pandemic is for the Government to provide more isolation/treatment centers, show more testing kits, and engage more community health volunteers.
When a Government lockdown markets and shops with the ”common pretence”, corrupt tendencies to contract the purchase of palliative items to friends and Associates, the state becomes risky to corruption.
The best way we can create the right impact of palliative on the citizens is to be #transparent# in distributing, and #accountable# up to how the people have benefited.
The Community AntiGraft Initiative (C.A-G.I) has posited, that one of the symptoms of corruption profusely manifested this time of corona virus was the citizen’s lack of trust in the government’s fight against Covid19.
The organization says most Nigerian citizens have doubted the existence of corona virus in the country. They said even if corona virus is in other countries, but for Nigeria the government have more to prove. The people feels that, both palliatives provided to facilitate the lockdown, and the results of tested cases are all gauged to defraud the people and enrich the few political class.
But, no one knows that, ”Transparency” and ”Accountability” builds such integrity that people need to develop confidence in government.
As we go through the partial lockdown from today, let’s take the responsibility to ensure that all standards set by the government, to control the further spread of corona virus are followed.
